How to generate personal development blog post ideas

To devise your own personal development blog post ideas, follow the below steps.
See what topics are trending
Trending personal growth topics are ideal if you want to improve your SEO efforts. With a new or upcoming trend that few people are writing about, you have the opportunity to rank highly in Google search results. Additionally, you’ll be able to establish yourself as an authority within your niche since you’re one of the first people to be talking about specific trends.
So, where can you determine what topics are trending? Here are some websites I use to find new and upcoming trends:
- Google Trends
- Instagram and TikTok
- Exploding Topics
- Treendly
Look on Google search
Did you know that you can find new topics to write about on Google search?
Here’s the deal. Type a topic into Google search bar. Let’s say we want to write about ‘healthy sleep habits’.
If we scroll down to the bottom of the first page, we can also discover related searches. In this instance, we can find foods to write about to get a good night’s sleep, and we can see that sleep hygiene is a topic that people search for so this might be a great topic to write about.

What are your competitors writing about?
A good place to search for blog post inspiration is to see what your competitors are writing about.
If you don’t know who your competition is, simply search for ‘personal development blogs’ or ‘your niche + blogs’ in Google. This will bring up some competitor websites which you can look through to see what topics they’re writing about.
Search in Facebook groups
Facebook groups are an excellent source of market research. In other words, finding topics that people are talking about.
For personal development/self-growth, you can search within groups to find relevant ones to join. For example, some of these groups have thousands of members and are active communities that are getting new posts each day.

Simply search through these group posts to see if there are any interesting topics that people are mentioning.
Once you’ve found a couple of intriguing subjects, you can then perform keyword research to narrow down low competition keywords for SEO.
