I used to wonder if there was such a thing as fulfilling jobs that don’t suck?

Back in the early 2000s, I absolutely hated my office job – I can still remember the pit in my stomach as I spent Sunday nights crying, dreading the thought of the following working day.

Thankfully, those days are long gone!

I now have a job that I absolutely love – I’m so grateful to be doing a job I adore, especially with the Great Resignation happening across the globe, and many people quiet quitting.

If you’ve never had a job that didn’t suck, you may think that stress-free jobs don’t exist. Well, I’m here to tell you that not all jobs suck!

Freelance Writer/Freelance Copywriter

I’m probably a little biased here as I work as a copywriter, but it really is one of the best stress-free jobs in the world (providing you get the right clients or employers).

If you’ve got no experience, you’re probably wondering how you can get started. I’ve written a guide on how to become a freelance writer with no experience here. 

There are also some gig platforms you can use to get clients, such as Upwork and Fiverr. You can also try content mills like Textbroker. However, these are low-paying so I’d only recommend them as a way to grow your experience. 

One of the best ways to become a freelance writer is to build your own website and choose a freelance writing niche. By becoming an expert in a specific field, you’ll be able to attract clients much easier. 

You can also write guest posts on other websites in your niche to establish yourself as a leading authority figure. 

Blogger

Blogging is one of the best ways to earn money online and grow a business. You can earn money blogging via display ads, affiliate marketing, selling services or digital products, and by forming brand partnerships. 

I have a lot of resources on how to start a blog and monetize it from day one. Blogging is still a viable career, despite what many people assume. 

If you can offer personal experience and create valuable content for readers, you can 100% become a professional blogger – just watch out for these amateur blogger mistakes. 

Virtual Assistant

A virtual assistant normally performs admin tasks for a client, including email management, booking travel and accommodation, and scheduling appointments. 

You can earn money by charging an hourly rate for ad-hoc clients, or by a set-fee for project-based work. You can also offer clients a monthly retainer where they pay for your services no matter how many days you’re required. 

Pet Sitter

If you love animals, becoming a pet sitter could be the perfect stress-free job.

This type of job is fairly well paid, depending on the type of company you work for, and your location. 

The average salary for a bookkeeper is around $42,000 per year. However, you can earn more doing freelance work on the side. Plus, you could also start your own website and launch a course teaching small businesses and solopreneurs how to do their bookkeeping. 

Software Developer

How does developing mobile apps and building websites sound?

A software developer is a highly sought-after career since it involves problem-solving and attention to detail. As a developer, you can work in a range of industries, including tech companies, finance, and healthcare. 

For this work, you’ll need to understand how to use programming languages like Java, Python, C++, and others to write code, test and debug software. 

Many people in this field work freelance or for a company, averaging around $101,000 per year. 

If you’re looking for a well-paid job that doesn’t involve working with tons of people, this type of role will likely make your shortlist.

Selling courses can be highly lucrative – I know of many online entrepreneurs who make millions per year as a course creator. 

There are really only 2 main things you need to sell courses. First, you need some type of skill or knowledge in a niche. Secondly, you need an audience to sell your course to. 

Becoming a successful online course creator requires hard work and dedication, but if you’re willing to put the effort in, it’s well worth pursuing. This article tells you how you can get started. 

Coach

Online coaches are everywhere – and, if you want to succeed in this industry, you’ll need to know how to stand out. 

That said, being a coach is deeply gratifying for many, particularly as you’re able to help people achieve their goals on a daily basis. 

Many online coaches specialize in areas like fitness, nutrition, career development, and life coaching, communicating with clients through video conferencing, email, and/or messaging apps.

Although, there are no formal qualifications needed, having experience in your niche is a must. You can also find qualifications online – you may want to start with a Udemy course to see what’s involved. 

YouTuber

Making money from YouTube isn’t as challenging as it may seem. You don’t need to have a huge following to earn an income as many YouTubers profit from working with brands on sponsored content and affiliate marketing. 

While you don’t need lots of subscribers, the more views you have, the better! Especially as you’ll then be able to make money from ads, channel memberships and merchandise sales. 

The first step in becoming a YouTuber is to make engaging content that people naturally gravitate to. It’s a good idea to choose a specific niche and be known for one particular thing, rather than create videos on every topic. 

Once you start making videos, you can work on refining your content and building your channel. 

National Park Jobs

Working in a national park can vary from being a park ranger to wildlife biologist. 

In this role, the likelihood is that you’re going to be working with people or animals so if you don’t love either of these, this probably isn’t the job for you. 

If you do like the idea of working with animals or people, a good way to start is by exploring volunteer opportunities so you can get a feel for the role. 

Pinterest Manager

Do you spend hours scrolling on Pinterest? If so, you may find being a Pinterest Manager and maintaining client accounts a fulfilling job. 

To become a Pinterest Manager, you should start building a professional-looking portfolio, showcasing your skills and experience by creating visually appealing boards, pins, and campaigns.

This career is centered around purchasing clothing, accessories, and other items to meet a client’s personal style and wardrobe needs. Usually, these are clients with bigger budgets who are able to afford someone to help them find the best items for their lifestyle requirements. 

People in this line of work usually have expertise in fashion and retail to recommend and source items that meet those needs. You can work as an independent contractor, or be employed by a retail store or independent business. 

If this sounds like the perfect job, getting some experience in fashion or luxury retail would be a good advantage. 

Cake Decorator

A cake decorator designs and creates decorative elements for cakes and cupcakes, using a variety of techniques, including icing, fondant, gum paste, and other materials, to create beautiful and imaginative designs for their clients.

For this job, you can work in a bakery, pastry shop, supermarket, or from your own space as a solo business. Getting lots of baking and decorating experience is a must for this role as you’ll need to be able to work quickly and accurately under pressure, as well as have strong communication and customer service skills.

Wedding Planner

Planning events like weddings is a complex task that some people are paid extremely well to do.

Pilot

Flying a plane doesn’t have to be a job that’s out of reach. Many people professionally operate aircraft to transport people, goods, or military personnel.
